CHRISTIAN SPRINGS ROAD RECONSTRUCTION

01/03/2012 Update:  Within the next two weeks the Township will be installing the catch basins and cross pipes in the area of 4303 Christian Springs Road.  Every effort will be made to minimize inconvenience to the motoring public. At the time this work commences there will be intermittent closures.

10/06/2011 Update: Upon completion of the 2011 Road Rehabilitation Project, the Township hopes to commence with some of the storm drainage improvements along Christians Springs Road, primarily installing catch basins and cross pipes in the area of 4303 Christian Springs Road.  At the time this work commences there will be intermittent road closures.

As most of you are aware, Christian Springs Road is undergoing significant changes.  A sewer line is being installed and subsequently, the road base will be totally rehabilitated and the cartway resurfaced.  This work is being performed by a developer.

Considering the fact that there are some areas along the road that have poor drainage conditions, we have determined that this is the appropriate time for the Township to attempt to rectify those conditions and incorporate various drainage improvements.  Our goal is to eliminate those areas where we have standing water in the roadway.

In order to accomplish these improvements we will be changing roadway elevation, performing shoulder grading and installing cross pipes where needed.  We hope to accomplish most of the work within the confines of the Township right-of-way.  In those areas that may require work outside of the right-of-way we will be in contact with the respective property owners.

In addition to the sewer line installation, The Easton Suburban Water Authority will be improving their water distribution system by installing a new water main along various portions of the road.  This work is being performed pro-actively in anticipation of the improved roadway.

In closing, we ask for your cooperation during this period as there surely will be some inconvenience to you as this work progresses.  we are hopeful that all improvements are completed by the end of October.

NEWBURG ROAD MUNICIPAL COMPLEX ROAD SYSTEM

The Township has begun the process of constructing the internal road system at the property along Newburg Road and Gremar Road.  The roads are being built by township forces utilizing township equipment.  The materials for the project are a residual by-product  of the road rehabilitation project described above.

The Township will realize a significant cost savings utilizing township staff and the materials from the road project.
